What it is
The Project Aura AQ Sensor Hub PCB v1.1 — the official maker-released board for the Aura air-quality monitor (crowdfunded on MakerWorld). Ships fully assembled, tested, and ready to slot into your Aura build.
Why this PCB exists
Project Aura's original BOM is excellent, but it leans on parts — particularly the Adafruit SEN6x breakout for the Sensirion SEN66 and the small DFRobot cables — that have been on-and-off backordered across the major distributors for months. The maker designed this board to make the Aura buildable in one shipment, from one vendor, without waiting for restocks.
How the price breaks down
We list the board ($42) and the import tariff ($5.80) as separate lines because that's what the underlying costs actually look like. The $42 covers the bare PCB, components, assembly, and our outbound USPS to your door. The $5.80 is the customs / duty / handling charged when the boards land from PCBWay's fab in China — we pass it through at cost rather than burying it in a higher headline price. (If you order direct from PCBWay yourself, you pay similar fees — they're just bundled into your checkout total there.)
Where to get it — your options
Two ways to buy this board. We're listing them honestly so you can pick what fits.
| Source | Single board delivered | Lead time |
|---|---|---|
| Self-source nine parts (Adafruit + Seeed + Mouser/DigiKey) and assemble | ~$57–72 | 1–3 weeks, plus backorder hunt |
| Savi Shop (this listing) | $54.80 ($42 + $5.80 import tariff + $7 flat shipping) | In stock — ships within 3 business days |
Parts this board replaces (for the curious)
Verified retail prices, May 2026. Click any link to confirm at the source. This is what the Aura BOM specifies if you build it breakout-by-breakout instead of using one consolidated PCB.
| Part | Retail (USD) |
|---|---|
| Adafruit SEN6x Breakout for SEN66 | $4.50 |
| Adafruit PCF8523 RTC (STEMMA QT) | $4.95 |
| Adafruit BMP580 Pressure sensor | $7.95 |
| Adafruit Qwiic / Stemma QT 5-Port Hub | $2.50 |
| Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor 10V 470µF (Mouser/DigiKey) | ~$0.50 |
| Grove → STEMMA QT cables, 100mm × 3 | $5.85 |
| Qwiic / STEMMA QT cables, 50mm × 3 | $2.85 |
| JST GH 1.25mm 6-pin cable, 100mm | $0.95 |
| Seeed Grove screw terminal | $1.70 |
| Parts subtotal | ~$31.75 |
Plus shipping fees from at least three vendors (~$15–25) and the soldering / wiring time. The PCB skips all of that.
What you DO still need
This board is the hub. You still need the sensors and the brains:
- Sensirion SEN66 — the main air-quality sensor (CO₂, PM, VOC, T/H). Optional add-ons: Seeed SFA30 (HCHO) and DFRobot SEN0466 (CO). Source from Adafruit, DigiKey, Mouser, or whoever's in stock.
- The Aura 3D-printed enclosure — print your own from the MakerWorld files. May ship as a separate Savi Shop product later.
- A Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-LCD-4.3 running the open-source Aura firmware (the project's reference board).
